TeacherFOCUS has worked closely with the Myanmar Teacher Competency Standards Framework (TCSF), a framework developed in collaboration between UNESCO Myanmar and the Myanmar Ministry of Education through the Strengthening Pre-Service Teacher Education in Myanmar (STEM) project, supporting over 100 teachers who work in parallel education systems both in Myanmar and in neighboring Thailand.

 

This framework allows TeacherFOCUS to collect and analyze comprehensive teacher competency data from teachers working in migrant learning centers providing inclusive education opportunities for some of the most marginalized populations on the Thai-Myanmar border. This observation tool represents an integrated, extensive and contextually relevant foundation to support national teachers and bridge Myanmar’s teacher education to international standards.
